FROM  GOD \nOR  SATAN?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isaiah 6b-7: \u201eI am the Lord, and there\nis no other. I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and\ncreate disaster, I, the Lord, do all these things.\u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE  CALL\nTO PURITY<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Psalm\n24: 3-4 King David asks, \u201cWho may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in\nhis holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up\nhis soul to an idol or swear by what is false.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prophet\nJoel gives the command to blow the \u201ctrumpet\u201d<\/em>,\nto call God\u2019s people together in order to repent and seek him, for \u201cwho knows but that he turn and have pity and\nleave behind a blessing.\u201d  (Joel 2:1 +\n14)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We should\nall see the Coronavirus as a heavenly shofar (ram\u2019s horn=trumpet) calling us to\nseek God and test our hearts. Let us follow Jacob\u2019s advice, \u201cCome near to God and he will come near to\nyou. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded\u201d (<\/em>James\n4:8).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jesus\nhimself taught that a pure heart is more important than physical hygiene and\nhand-washing, for it is our heart which makes us impure and deceives us (Matt.\n15:16-20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course\nthis in no case means that we should ignore all advice or the hygienic and\nlegal regulations. But it does mean that we should with the same or even\nincreased decisiveness cleanse our hearts because this will influence our\nspiritual life now and in eternity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE \nTIME  OF  SHAKING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the book\nof Haggai the prophet proclaims, \u201cThis is\nwhat the Lord Almighty says: \u2018In a little while I will once more shake the\nheavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land. I will shake all nations, and\nthe desired of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory\u2019,\nsays the Lord Almighty\u201d (Hagg. 2:6-7 and 21-23)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This\nshaking will be so strong that Jesus himself warned, \u201cMen will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the\nworld, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken\u201d(Luke 21:26).<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Corona\ncrisis makes very clear how fragile our whole world trade system, our society\nand ultimately our life is. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hopefully\nthese shakings will set free a hunger for God \u2013 and Jesus\u2019 church must be\nprepared for this. What is expressed in the book of Haggai is put in a\ndifferent way in Hebrews 12. Here the coming shakings will shake whatever can\nbe shaken in order to reveal the things which cannot be shaken (Hebr. 12:27ff).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This text\nends with a challenge to all of us, \u201cTherefore,\nsince we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and\nso worship God acceptably, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming\nfire\u201d (Hebr. 12:28-29). <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Man-made\nchurch structures and systems will be shaken and will fall, also, so that the\noriginal situation reappears (they met in the homes).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THIS \nIS  ONLY  THE \nBEGINNING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

If we read\nGod\u2019s word carefully and take it seriously, we realize that this is only a\nsmall preview of what will come. The Hebrew prophets and the New Testament\nspeak of a time when God will judge the world strongly \u2013 because of injustice\nand rebellion against God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think\nthat the Coronavirus pandemic is not God\u2019s true judgment, but only a forerunner\nof what will come in much greater measure if the world does not repent. In this\nsense the Coronavirus is a sign of future things when certain plagues will\ndestroy the earth and mankind still does not repent (Rev. 9:18-21). But it is\nalso a warning that this is still a time of mercy in which \u201ceveryone who calls\non the name of the Lord will be saved\u201d (Joel 2:32 and Acts 2:21). It is a wake-up call <\/strong>to the church to know the\ntime in which we live and act accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

URGENT \nCALL  TO  PRAYER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

All of this\nshould and must drive us to prayer, into the Father\u2019s arms! There we implore\nmen to turn to God and be saved. That the name Jesus Christ will be honored and\nglorified and his kingdom will be spread! Now we have the time for this. We\nhave the unique opportunity  to come\ntogether as a married couple, as a family and to realize what we have in each\nother. Family will again really become family as it was originally meant. We\nshould and will make a difference to those who do not know God because we are\nfull of love and this love of God dispels all fear. We are full of hope and\npeace in every situation because our hope and peace are a person \u2013 the Prince\nof Peace Jesus Christ. We will be ready at all times to help wherever help is\nneeded. We will be and are the true ambassadors in Christ\u2019s stead! Thank you,\nFather, for these opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
